The Black Horse, Norwich The Black Horse, Norwich BLACK HORSE, NORWICH - Conquest Inns Ltd.
The pub had an existing dining area at the rear of the premises, which was divided from the bar by a large, disused, food servery. The dining room was little used and represented a significant area of the pub. The existing trade kitchen was redesigned, and the bar was extended in order to accommodate the increased trade. The rear area was upgraded to lounge bar standard with wing chairs, sofas to give it a more luxurious atmosphere and to encourage the public into the previously under utilised area of the pub.

A village pub; the brief was to provide an additional dining area. To achieve this a new extension was built to the side of the property; access to this area is by a new timber staircase and balcony. A new enlarged, fully fitted trade kitchen was also formed as part of the refurbishment. The traditional feel of the existing building was maintained and extended into the extension.

Pubmaster Ltd.
A country pub, that originally had two separate bars. Taken under new management, it was felt that the drinking areas had become quite stale and uninviting. A new scheme was undertaken, to provide a link between the two bars and to generally liven up the interior. In conjunction with these works we formed a new front entrance porch; the existing being out of character and uninviting.

Prior to alterations the property was derelict: having been used for illegal club nights and raves. The interior fabric of the building had been severely damaged by fire. The brief was to form a multi-functional area on the ground floor. The area had to contain a bar, restaurant and a function room; separated from the other areas by folding timber doors. Adjacent to the bar area was the Baronial Hall containing the staircase leading to the first floor toilets. A new kitchen was formed to serve the bar and restaurant. The main entrance to the public areas is from the rear of the building via the panelled corridor. The scheme was designed to be in keeping with the character of the building.
