THE GLOBE, LOWESTOFT - Conquest Inns Ltd

The main objective was to incorporate the amount of previously unutilised space and to rationalise the layout. The large corridor linking the toilets to the bar was removed to create a larger bar area. The existing kitchen was unsuitable for the proposed alterations; we therefore installed a fully fitted trade kitchen for high volumes meals. Our brief was to open up the available area and to provide a fresh, female friendly environment.

Prior to the alterations the pub had little trade and was partially closed. It contained two bars and divided in the middle with toilets and the disused entrance lobby. We introduced a raised floor in the sports bar and introduced strong themes to each of the areas. The exterior of the building was altered and signed to produce a more modern feeling. The brief was to open up the central area and to upgrade the bars - A two bar operation with the games bar to the left and lounge bar to the right. Both bars had individual images i.e. modern and traditional.

Conquest Inns Ltd.
An Hotel with a bar and restaurant; the bar was remodelled and the entrance altered to make it more obvious and inviting. The restaurant area was given a strong traditional feel with dark red walls and gilt picture frames, making it an exclusive dining area for guests. The scheme in the bar was contemporary with clean lines, painted walls and floors. The furniture and light fittings were selected to complement the modern interior.
THE VICTORIA, CHELTENHAM The Victoria, Cheltenham
Avebury Taverns
A rundown back street pub; catering mainly for students, the interior was divided by a central staircase, with an unsupervised poolroom at the rear. In order to open up the drinking area the staircase was removed and relocated at the rear. It was given a strong identity with murals of Queen Victoria, and a modern theme. The external scheme became quite controversial and made it into the national tabloids.
